Are Cherimoyas Cold Hardy?

Last winter was a hard lesson for me. I learned that the tropicals may survive our winters in a greenhouse but they do not go dormant and still require watering. Which I did not do. All of the figs did fine but I killed off hundreds of dollars worth of tropicals.

Dead list:
Cherimoya (Might have died from lack of water. I did not water any of the plants when they were in the greenhouse)
Logan
Papaya
Vietnamese Guava
Jacaranda
Barbados Cherry
June Plum
Sapote
Moringa
Cassabanana
Jamaican Cherry
Jack Fruit
Yellow Jaboticaba
Plumeria
Night Blooming Jasmine (Planted in ground)

Survived:
Jaboticaba
Hardy Banana

Cold Hardiness Ranking from what I've researched.

White - vigorous
Chaffey
Inca red - vigorous
Fino De Jete - holds up to frost

  1. Have you heard of trying the moringa in ground as a die back perennial? I'm thinking about trying that.

    1. It may work with some protection but Moringas I believe are from India. I dont think they can with stand freezing temps
