Dark Berry Type Figs
The Salem Dark fig is another one of those average tasting Dark colored figs that taste like berry jam.
This fig ripens around the same time as Chicago Hardy. To be honest if you had Chicago Hardy you probably do not need this one fig. Very similar in taste, ripening times, and appearance. I'd give the Chicago Hardy the edge though in size and sweetness.

I do get a bit tougher as the season moves along, but this fig may fall into my cut list. There's too many figs that are similar to it. Chicago Hardy, Natalina, Zingarella, VDB, RDB, Sals, MVSB to name a few

Another dark colored berry flavored fig that ripens at the end of September. Overall I think it is a very average fig. Decent sweetness and jam flavor. It makes a great snack that you don't think twice about. But the Chicago Hardy is pretty much the same fig.
If you have the Chicago Hardy you do not need this fig.
