The Pakistani Mulberries are at again 2018

It's June 2018 and the Pakistani Mulberry is at it again with a tree full of fruit! It's going on it's 3rd yr in ground and is more productive than ever.

The birds have discovered it so I had to wrap it with a net to keep the rascals at bay.

It's a highly prized fruit for Nolan so I gotta make sure he gets the lion's share.

He's become a pro at eating these things too. Stuffs it in his mouth and pulls out the little tiny stem and tosses it to the ground.

Such an amazing fruit. For something so tasty, it has the added bonus of anti oxidants and fights cancer!

Pakistani Mulberry Update

The 2nd yr in ground Pakistani Mulberry is absolutely loaded this yr! Can't wait to start picking some ripe fruit.

Update 6/27/17:

They are ripe! Just picked these yesterday. It's like if you squeezed rainier cherries and watermelon juice over pure sugar. That's kinda what it tastes like.

Growing the Pakistani Mulberry 2017 2nd year in ground in Seattle

This is the 2nd yr that my Pakistani Mulberry has been growing in ground and it's doing amazing. What a super productive tree! It's mid May and the tree has already flushed out a ton of new fruits. If you are in the Pacific Northwest and want to grow on of the tastiest pest resistance fruit trees that you cannot find in the grocery store this is it!!

I've been trying to air layer this thing for 2 years but it's proving to be harder than I thought. I might have to use some clonex.

I was about to abandon the air layer, but when I unraveled it. I noticed that the area where I made some scars on the bark appear be root initials. Well I sprinkled some root hormone into the area added more soil and now I'm hoping for the best.

If you like raspberries or blackberries and watermelon, than I'm going to assume you're gonna love Pakistani Mulberries. These have a phenomenal taste and the best thing is they do great outdoors here in Seattle.

Pakistani mulberry compared to Illinois Everbearing

This is the 2nd yr with this particular tree. I think it loves the fact that I put it in ground and has rewarded me with some awesome fruit. It's early June and the fruit has already ripened.

Check this out. Only after a couple of weeks this bare twiggy tree has new leaves and fruits already forming. I'm so excited to taste these!

Pakistani Mulberry.

I learned about the mulberry this year. I'm glad I did. It seems like such a yummy fruit.
I bought mine from Burnt Ridge Nursery. They sent a and awesome sized tree.

It's on the right, next to my new jujube.

Here it is starting to leaf out after a couple of weeks.

Can't wait til they bear fruit.
